The Executive Board is elected annually by WSC-SD Members and co-ordinate the activities of this international organisation.
Co-President: Carl Justin Kamp
Justin is currently a PhD student at the chemical reaction engineering department at Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden. The PhD thesis work is based on a project for the Volvo Corporation, where the goal is the reduction of particulate emission from diesel engines through increased physical and chemical understanding, simulation and design. Justin has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the California Polytechnic University, a master’s in Environmentally Sustainable Process Technology (Chemical engineering) from Chalmers and is working on a second master’s in Engineering Mathematics at Chalmers.

Co-President: Jess Schulschenk
Jess is currently studying her Masters in Sustainable Development Management and Planning at the Sustainability Institute of the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography and Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town. Jess has worked as an environmental manager for a progressive environmental initiative in the South African wine industry and as an educator at an environmental education centre in Egypt. She currently works with environmental education and urban food gardens projects in her local community.

Director of Internal Relations: Kat Potter
Kat is a PhD candidate in Climate Physics and Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research is on instrumentation development with atmospheric chemistry applications. Prior to MIT she worked with an environmental education program designed to connect urban youth to nature in their urban environment, and obtained her B.S. at the College of William and Mary in Chemistry/Environmental Science.

Regional Director for Asia: Ayumi Arakawa
Ayumi completed a Bachelor in International Technical Cooperation for Rural Development from the Faculty of Agriculture, the University of Tokyo. She proceeded to the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, now working on her Masters thesis. She is currently working as the President of the Executive Board of AGS University of Tokyo Student Community and now focusing on putting “Sustainable Campus Project” intoactions in UT.

Regional Director for Europe & North America:
Christopher Hedvall
Christopher is a currently studying his M.Sc. at Chalmers University of Technology within technology management, and a B.Sc. in Business economics at the University of Gothenburg. His M.Sc. thesis focus on industrial economic effects from current U.S. energy policy development. Christopher has during his studies been involved in lobby organizations ranging from energy industry, educational quality and politics, for organizations such as University of Jonkoping, the Swedish National Union of Students, and the Student Council of Royal Swedish Academy for Engineering Sciences. He is currently on the board of Gothenburg Students Company Group Ltd.

Regional Director for Asia: Alala Willis
Alala is the founder of Students for Global Sustainability (SfGS-UoN) - University of Nairobi Student Community and is a practising architect in Kenya, having completed his undergraduate degree in Architecture at the Unversity of Nairobi’s School of the Built Environment. He is also currently pursuing his Masters degree in Urban Planning and Ecology at the same school. Alala has worked on several projects encompassing sustainable development and youth leadership in poverty alleviation initatives globally. He is an active member of the Researcher’s Alliance for Development (World Bank), the Eco-Ethics Internaional Union - Germany and Action Partner with the Oxfam International Youth Partnerships programme of Oxfam Australia. He lives in Nairobi, Kenya.

Regional Director for Latin America: Adriana Valenzuela
Adriana is currently studying her Masters in Sustainable Development at the National University of Lanus Argentenia, on communication for sustainability. She holds a Bachelors in Communication form the National Unversity UNAD of Colombia. Adriana has worked as an environmental manager in a NGO promoting youth participation in environmental processes in Colombia and Latin America. She was a member of the Youth Advsior Council for the United Nationals Environment Program and a delegate in international negotiations. Adriana currently works with climate change and education projects.

Webmaster: Ryu Yanagisawa
Ryu is currently studying his Bachelors in System Engineering at the University of Tokyo. He works on Afforestation with the Philippines Symbiotic Project (PSP), connecting Japanese and Philippine youth. Ryu is also working on an education programme for sustainability. He is currently an active member of AGS - University of Tokyo Student Community.
