Student Conference | Kathmandu, Nepal

Posted by jess in category(s) Blog, Projects | Permalink |

There are many young, energetic students in Nepal, who believe they can make the change. They are ready and capable to challenge the status quo, yet the battle is uphill as the powerbase is controlled by the capitalist and feudal mindset. Young people are isolated and many times they get frustrated as their zeal get subsumed by the status quo. As a result many hold negative view of the country and would love to migrate as soon as the opportunity arises. We have started a humble effort, where young Masters students from interdisciplinary group meet once a month, and discuss new ideas, present papers and have fun. This way we not only share ideas but build a network with a hope that collective effort will definitely make a change.

So far students have presented paper on (if you would like a full copy, please contact Nripal (nripal@abari.org):

“Human Impacts on Planet - Reviewing consequences of human development and exploring human dimensions of sustainability” by Sundar K Sharma

“Psychological impacts on IDPs (Internally Displaced People) due to the armed conflict of Nepal”

by Jyotshna Shrestha

“Engineering Potential of Bamboo”

by Nripal Adhikary
